After a wonderfully relaxing day in Como, we headed across the border to Switzerland. I thought Como was nice, but Lugano was absolutely stunning. The moment we got off the train, we could see how different this side of the lake was. The weather had finally cleared up, and it was bright and sunny. It was amazing to see how clean the town and lake were.
After exploring a local park, we headed down to the city centre where we found a bike marathon. Those suckers were moving fast. We strolled by the lake, had some coffee, and took a lot of pictures.
When we finally made it to the mountain that we wanted to climb, we had a hell of a time finding the trail. I still don’t think we ever found it, and I think we just ended up going up a different mountain. Because we took so long taking pictures, we were not able to summit the mountain, but we did get to a pretty sick viewpoint. We ended up having to scale up the mountain because we realized that the trail would take another hour to reach the top. There were times when I thought I would literally tumble down the mountain, but it was worth it.
Lugano was absolutely stunning, and I would go back in a heart beat.
